Shel Khan is a Toronto-based musician weaving together alternative, grunge, soul, and industrial music. She moves through existential terrain, drawing from themes of ancestry, loss, consciousness, nature, and dialectics, holding the soaring and the bleak, the beautiful and the brutal, without flinching from any of it.
Her debut self-produced EP, Garden, was released May 8, 2026, and marks a movement towards a more industrial-inspired sound.
With over 20 years of writing, recording, and performing experience, Shel has built her craft through post-secondary music education, studies in piano and guitar, and ongoing mentorship in composition and production. Her music is available across major streaming platforms and she has performed at venues throughout Toronto. She was a semi-finalist in the Verse2Voice songwriting competition for her song Misery, selected through audience vote and adjudication by a panel of industry professionals.
